And say “There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home.”
I’ve enjoyed my week away from my regularly scheduled life, but I’m ready to get back to it. I guess that’s the sign of a successful trip, right? When you’ve had enough of Different and look forward to the same old stuff again.
If you haven’t been, Colorado Springs is a lovely city, with amazing weather and beautiful scenery. Great local art. Fun hills to walk or ride. And there are some interesting restaurants, and several that specialize in organics and locally-sourced meats and produce. Taking a bit of it home with me, too, from the artisan jewelry from Garden of the Gods trading post to the orange spice tea that’s the house flavor at Adams Mountain Cafe.
When I left home, I was tired of all the shopping, prep work, and cooking I do on a regular basis. But after a week away, I’m happy to get back to it. And as nice as it’s been to spend the week at Accolade Fitness, I’m ready to be in my own gym again, or riding my TDF in the morning. And sleeping in my own bed? Well, you know how I love my sleep. I think tomorrow night will have some very sweet dreams indeed.
Signing off from Mountain Time,
Exercise: Saved Coach’s tabata session for my last workout of the week. Figured that way, I could use my transit day as recovery, and not feel bad about wasting another Saturday away from the gym.
